We are almost ready to sell our house and leave Tallahassee.
Since the summer camps at Young Actor’s Theatre have ended, my focus has been the job search & home repairs. It’s an interesting thing, looking at our home like a buyer after living here for five years. Each time I work on a room, I am reminded of something that happened there. From hosting parties for friends special days to reading until I thought my eyes would never recover, I’ve spent a lot of time here in this beautiful place.
Denny and I have built a quiet life here with our pups, and a pool, and the never ending dreams that we both have for “after dissertation.” Now in this little tiny speck of time, my memories and someone else’s dreams feel like they collide as I make this an inviting home for someone else to love.
It’s a strange transition. Just a few months ago I was waking every morning to write my dissertation. Now I wake every morning to prepare to leave. But I quite like it. I am really enjoying the that my final days here are of quiet manual labor being accompanied by Pancho (while Denny is at work) and Denny. It feels like the right way to end this chapter of my life.
Soon the house will be on sale.
Soon we will be moving on to a new adventure.
That makes these days precious.
Almost there…
