Elaine Hendriks Smith is a strategic arts leader and theatre scholar with more than 25 years of experience advancing artistic excellence.. A Ph.D. candidate in Theatre & Performance Research at Florida State University, her scholarship examines performance, memory, and affect, contributing to broader conversations about theatre history, pedagogy, and institutional responsibility. Her academic work is complemented by extensive experience in directing, producing, design, curriculum development, and mentoring emerging artists and scholars.
